Swargarohini Trek is a popular and challenging trek in the Garhwal Himalayas of Uttarakhand, India. It is named after Swargarohini, the peak that dominates the skyline throughout the trek. The trek offers breathtaking views of snow-capped peaks, lush green valleys, and sparkling streams. The trail passes through dense forests, high altitude meadows, and rocky terrain. The trek is recommended for experienced trekkers who are in good physical condition.
The trek starts with a drive from Dehradun to Sankri, a small village located in the Uttarkashi district of Uttarakhand. The drive takes around 8-9 hours, covering a distance of approximately 220 km.
Which is the starting point of the trek. From Taluka, we trek to Osla, a beautiful village located on the banks of the Tons river. The trek is around 14 km and takes around 6-7 hours.
The trek from Osla to Har Ki Dun takes us through dense forests of pine and deodar trees. We cross a few streams and walk through meadows dotted with wildflowers. Har Ki Dun is a beautiful valley surrounded by snow-capped peaks. The trek is around 12 km and takes around 5-6 hours.
Which is a challenging part of the trek. We walk through rocky terrain, boulders, and moraines. The trail offers panoramic views of snow-capped peaks and glaciers. The trek is around 10 km and takes around 6-7 hours.
The trek from Jaundhar Glacier to Swargarohini Base Camp I takes us through high altitude meadows and alpine forests. We cross a few streams and walk through rocky terrain. The base camp offers stunning views of Swargarohini peak. The trek is around 9 km and takes around 5-6 hours.
This is an acclimatization day at Swargarohini Base Camp I. We rest and explore the surroundings.
From Swargarohini Base Camp I, we trek to Swargarohini Base Camp II, which is located at an altitude of around 4,800 meters. The trail is challenging and takes us through steep climbs and narrow ridges. The trek is around 5 km and takes around 5-6 hours.
We start early in the morning and trek to Swargarohini Summit. The summit offers breathtaking views of the surrounding peaks and valleys. We then descend back to Swargarohini Base Camp.
On day 9, we will trek back to Kedarnath, which will take around 6-7 hours. We will retrace our steps back to the Kedarnath temple, where we will spend the night in a guest house.
After breakfast, we will trek downhill to Gaurikund, which will take around 3-4 hours. From Gaurikund, we will drive to Rudraprayag, which is situated at the confluence of the Alaknanda and Mandakini rivers. We will stay overnight in a hotel in Rudraprayag.
On the final day of the trek, we will drive from Rudraprayag to Haridwar, which will take around 6-7 hours. We will reach Haridwar in the evening, where we will bid farewell to our trekking companions and proceed towards our respective destinations.
