For those who want to experience the beauty of the Himalayas but don`t have enough time for a long trek, the Sheshnag Lake Trek is a perfect choice. This 3-day trek takes you through some of the most scenic routes of the Himalayas and leads you to the beautiful Sheshnag Lake. Located in the Anantnag district of Jammu and Kashmir, this trek is ideal for beginners and seasoned trekkers alike. The Sheshnag Lake Trek starts from Pahalgam, a popular hill station in the Anantnag district of Jammu and Kashmir. The trail takes you through dense forests of pine, deodar and fir trees and offers magnificent views of the snow-capped Himalayan peaks. The trek is moderate in difficulty, with some steep ascents and descents, and requires a basic level of fitness. The highlight of the trek is the beautiful Sheshnag Lake, located at an altitude of 3,658 meters. The lake is surrounded by snow-capped peaks and is believed to be the abode of Lord Shiva by the locals. It is said that the lake was formed by the tears of Sheshnag, the divine serpent of Lord Vishnu.
Pahalgam, which is located 100 kilometres from Srinagar, will be the destination of the transportation, which will depart from Srinagar. There are two ways to get to Pahalgam; the most well-known is via Bijbehra, which takes you through a picturesque section of rural Kashmir.
After breakfast, proceed to Chandanwari. The route passes through lovely and lush maple trees as it follows Ladder River. Enter the unique Chandanwari valley after a strenuous climb.
Retrace your steps back to Pahalgam after a relaxing night on the Sheshnag Lake bank. Arrive in Chandanwari, take a little break, and then resume your trip through the thick maple forest.
