Trek Description

The Ruinsara Tal - Har Ki Dun Trek is a moderate level trek, suitable for both beginners and experienced trekkers. The trek starts from Sankri and takes you through the Govind National Park, which is known for its rich biodiversity. As you ascend, you will witness the stunning views of the Swargarohini and Bandarpoonch peaks. The trail passes through several picturesque villages, including Osla, which is known for its unique architecture and traditional way of life. You will also get to visit the Ruinsara Tal, a glacial lake situated at an altitude of 3,500 meters, before reaching Har Ki Dun, a valley known for its wildflowers, meadows, and rich history.

Day wise Details and Description

Day 1: Dehradun to Sankri (2000m)

Drive from Dehradun to Sankri (7-8 hours). Stay overnight in a guesthouse or camp

Day 2: Sankri to Taluka to Seema (2560m)

Drive from Sankri to Taluka (1900m). Trek from Taluka to Seema (11km, 4-5 hours). Stay overnight in a guesthouse or camp

Day 3: Seema to Har Ki Dun (3566m)

Trek from Seema to Har Ki Dun (11km, 5-6 hours). Stay overnight in a guesthouse or camp

Day 4: Har Ki Dun

Rest day to explore the surrounding area and acclimatize to the altitude. Optional day hike to Jaundhar Glacier (14km round trip, 7-8 hours)

Day 5: Har Ki Dun to Ruinsara Tal (3500m)

Trek from Har Ki Dun to Ruinsara Tal (16km, 7-8 hours). Stay overnight in a camp

Day 6: Ruinsara Tal

Rest day to explore the beautiful lake and surrounding area. Stay overnight in a camp

Day 7: Ruinsara Tal to Osla (2560m)

Trek from Ruinsara Tal to Osla (13km, 5-6 hours). Stay overnight in a guesthouse or camp

Day 8: Osla to Sankri (2000m)

Trek from Osla to Sankri (20km, 7-8 hours). Stay overnight in a guesthouse or camp

Day 9: Sankri to Dehradun

Drive from Sankri to Dehradun (7-8 hours). End of the trek
