Trek Description

The Pin Bhaba Pass Trek is a popular trekking trail in the Himachal region of India. The trek takes you through the lush green valleys of Kinnaur and the barren landscapes of Spiti. It is a perfect blend of adventure and scenic beauty, making it a must-do for all trekking enthusiasts. Here is a day-wise itinerary and a list of things to carry for the Pin Bhaba Pass Trek.

Day wise Details and Description

Day 1: Pickup from Shimla Old Bus Stand

Although though Kafnu is a very rural hamlet in southern Himachal, getting there is not as challenging. The drive to Kafnu is filled with nerve-racking roads and several hanging cliffs that provide an adrenaline rush. At Wangtoo, you will outperform the Hydel Project. You will spend the night in Kafnu at one of the local lodges. It's critical to relax today in preparation for the arduous travel tomorrow.

Day 2: Trek from Kafnu to Mulling

It is the most stunning day of the Pin Bhaba Trek. You'll be walking through a mostly coniferous forest. The journey begins at Kafnu, so there will be an altitude rise. From the hamlet, continue for about 200 metres and you will see India's first underground dam, the 'Bhaba Hydro Project. Continue walking for 2.65 kilometres on the motorable path.

Day 3: Trek from Mulling to Kara

The hike today will be a moderate rise across rocky terrain. After roughly 1.6 kilometres, you will be greeted by a lovely meadow and waterfall. Take in the scenery and wildflowers around you. The scenery will undoubtedly take your breath away.

Day 4: Trek from Kara to Phustirang

Today will be the shortest day as you will be covering only 5 km. You will be the Bhaba River passing bythe mountain stream approaches from the left side of Phutsirang. Cross the stream and continue to climb the steep slope. The terrain is a loose mud and you will be lot of mountain streams 4.2 km into the trek, you will arrive at a campsite which has been a setup for lower Phutsirang. From this spot, continue the upward climb for another 700 meters and you will reach Phutsirang.

Day 5: Acclimatization and rest day at Phustirang

 

Day 6: Phustirang to Mangrungse via Pin Bhaba Pass

Today will be the most thrilling day since you will be traversing the pass that connects Bhaba and Pin Valley, which has severe slopes. There is a sense of adventure and success since the journey will not be simple. Feel the rush.

Day 7: Trek from Mangrungseto Mudh

This is the last day, and you will be hiking for hours, a total of 16 kilometres, to Mudh. Begin as soon as possible from your campground. Ascend the slope from Mangrungseto to the path, then continue going along it. The distance between Mangrungse and Bara Boulder is 4 km, and there is a gradual moraine portion from the Bara Boulder campground. It is suggested that you stock up on water bottles in Mangrungse. The Pin River tributary is only 300 metres away from Bara Boulder. Use the log bridge to cross this brook. The walk from Bara boulder is totally level, with red dirt and little red stones dominating.

Day 8: Mudh to Manali

Today you will be bidding goodbye to the trekkers leaving some great memories. You can also explore Spiti if you wish to stay at Mudh. If not then drive to Manali and enjoy the scenic beauty.
