The trek starts from the picturesque village of Dharchula, which is located in the eastern part of Uttarakhand. The trail passes through lush forests of oak, rhododendron and deodar trees, and several small villages. The highlight of the trek is the view of the majestic Panchachuli peaks, which can be seen from the base camp. The trek is considered to be of moderate difficulty and is suitable for both experienced trekkers and beginners.
On the first day, you will arrive in Kathgodam and drive to Dharchula, which is a 200 km journey. The drive will take approximately 8-9 hours and you will pass through the beautiful towns of Almora and Pithoragarh. You will spend the night in a guest house in Dharchula.
On the second day, you will start your trek from Dharchula to Tawaghat. The trail passes through lush forests of oak and rhododendron trees, and you will cross several small streams. You will spend the night in a tented camp in Tawaghat.
On the third day, you will trek from Tawaghat to Duktu. The trail passes through several small villages and you will see the majestic Panchachuli peaks in the distance. You will spend the night in a tented camp in Duktu.
On the fourth day, you will trek from Duktu to Sobla. The trail passes through dense forests of deodar trees and you will cross several small streams. You will spend the night in a tented camp in Sobla.
On the fifth day, you will trek from Sobla to Panchachuli Base Camp. The trail is steep and passes through lush meadows and you will see the Panchachuli peaks up close. You will spend the night in a tented camp at the base camp.
On the sixth day, you will rest at the base camp and explore the surrounding area. You can take short hikes and enjoy the scenic beauty of the Panchachuli peaks.
Today is a rest day, and we spend the day exploring the base camp and acclimatizing to the altitude. We can take short hikes to nearby vantage points to get better views of the Panchachuli peaks.
After breakfast, we begin our descent back to Dantu. The trail is mostly downhill, and we pass through the same stunning scenery that we saw on our way up. We stop at Sela Kharak for lunch, and continue our trek to Dantu where we spend our last night in the mountains.
After breakfast, we bid farewell to the beautiful Panchachuli Base Camp and make our way back to Kathgodam. The drive takes around 10 hours, and we reach Kathgodam by late evening. From here, we can take a train or a bus back to Delhi.
