Trek Description

Nandi Kund Trek is a high-altitude trek in the Garhwal Himalayas of Uttarakhand, India. The trek takes you to the Nandi Kund, a pristine alpine lake situated at an altitude of 4,300 meters. The trek is known for its breathtaking views of snow-capped peaks, lush green meadows, and colorful alpine flowers. It is a moderate to difficult level trek and requires a good level of fitness.

Day wise Details and Description

Day 1: Dehradun to Mansuna via Ukhimath

The vehicle will be provided, and the departure time is 6:30 am, from Dehradun Train Station. Devprayag, Rudraprayag, and Ukhimath are three attractive and holy towns that are passed through on the way to Mansuna. Have breakfast and lunch while on the road because the trip will last 8 to 9 hours. The plans will be made today in a hotel in Mansura. Enjoy your stay there the next day.

Day 2: Drive from Mansuna to Uniana and trek to Bantoli

Get a head start on the day by eating breakfast in Mansuna and taking a taxi the 15 kilometres to Uniana. The first day of the eleven-kilometer trip to Bantoli is today. Reach Bantoli after eating lunch along the way and taking a few quick rests. Set up your tents there and take advantage of an overnight tent stay.

Day 3: Trek from Bantoli to Madhyamaheshwar and a visit to Budha Madhyamaheshwar

Following a leisurely breakfast at Bantoli, depart for Madhyamaheshwar. Due to the high altitude, the trek is long and rather difficult. A sacred Hindu pilgrimage place honouring Lord Shiva is called Madhyamaheshwar. According to legend, it was constructed by the Pandavas, and the temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva, who is represented here by the navel of the bull. Get there in the late afternoon, and then go to Budar Kedar, another holy place. It's interesting to note that the shivling there is the largest in Northern India.

Day 4: Trek from Madhyamaheshwar to Kachani Dhar

After breakfast in Madhyamaheshwar, begin your hike to Kachnai Dhar, where you will camp for the night. It will take 5 or 6 hours to get the 10 kilometres to Kachnai Dhar by foot. There will be a packed lunch available; stop for a while and eat it in route. There are several ascents and descents along the trail. Arrive at your campsite, go exploring, then turn in for the evening./p>

Day 5: Trek from Kachani Dhar to Kachani Tal and trek to Pandav Shera

To reach Pandav Shera nowadays, one must hike from Kachnai Dhar to Kachnai Tal. These locations in the Garhwal Himalayas feature stories from the Mahabharata era that are deeply rooted in Hindu mythology. It's thought that the Pandavas spent a lot of time here. The 2 km distance between Kachnai Dhar and Kachnai Tal makes this a simple trip. Get there, take in the lovely scenery, and stay a while. After that, continue your 14-kilometer hike to Pandav Shera. Have lunch along the route. At the campsite after a strenuous journey, one can unwind there while waiting for a delicious meal before retiring for the evening.

Day 6: Trek from Pandav Shera to Nandi Kund

Leave for Nandi Kund after breakfast. It is a lovely glacial lake of 1.5 km in length that is situated at a relatively high elevation of 4,805 m. At Pandav Shera, begin a hike across expansive fields and deep woodlands. Cross some inclinations and declines. Arrive at Nandi Kund and enjoy the opportunity to set up camp next to this breathtaking glacier lake. Enjoy your meal and spend the night in luxury in tents.

Day 7: Trek from Nandi Kund to Dwari Gad

Given that Dwari Gad is 12 km away and the trail is steep through lush, deep forests and expansive, alluring meadows, start your day at your campground early with breakfast and depart early. Go to Dwari Gad, where you will be camping today. It's a lovely location to relax, explore the area, and then spend the night in luxury in tents after eating.

Day 8: Trek from Dwari Gad to Dhaula Udiyar

TAfter breakfast, the 13 kilometre journey to Dhaula Udiyar, which is the destination, begins. Due to the distance and difficulty of the hike, a packed lunch will be supplied. As you travel, pass through deep forests and take in the varied Flora and Fauna. Take quick breaks along the route as well. Arrive in Dhaula Udiyar, set up your campers, and go to bed.

Day 9: Trek from Dhaula Udiyar to Bantoli

The second to final day of your journey is today. Take in the scenery as you hike through woods and past the tall Mountains. Following breakfast, set out early because Dhaula Udiyar and Bantoli are separated by a 14 km distance.

h3>Day 10: Trek from Bantoli to Uniana and Drive to Ukhimath

You will be staying in Ukhimath today, a revered and well-known town in Uttarakhand. After breakfast, begin the 11-kilometer hike from Bantoli to Uniana, which may be reached in 5 to 6 hours.

h3>Day 11: Ukhimath to Dehradun

You will be staying in the well-known and revered Uttarakhand town of Ukhimath today. Start your 11-kilometer trek from Bantoli to Uniana after breakfast. It will take you 5 to 6 hours to complete the journey.
