Nalgan Pass Trek is a thrilling adventure that takes you to the beautiful valleys and snow-covered peaks of the Himalayas in Himachal Pradesh, India. The trek is a 10-day, 9-night journey that covers a distance of 82 km and reaches an altitude of 4600 meters above sea level. The trek is suitable for experienced trekkers who are looking for a challenging adventure in the mountains.
The trek starts from Manali, where you will be driven to Darcha, which is the starting point of the trek. The drive takes around 8-9 hours and covers a distance of 145 km.
After breakfast, the trek begins from Darcha. The first day of the trek is a gradual ascent through the beautiful landscape of the Zanskar Valley. You will pass through several small villages and cross the Bhaga River before reaching the campsite at Palamo.
The third day of the trek is a steep ascent through rocky terrain. The trail becomes steeper as you climb higher and the climb can be quite challenging. You will pass through scenic villages and lush green meadows before reaching the campsite at Zanskar Sumdo.
The fourth day of the trek is a gradual ascent through beautiful meadows and streams. The trail passes through scenic villages and lush green meadows before reaching the campsite at Chuminakpo.
The fifth day of the trek is a steep ascent through rocky terrain. The trail passes through beautiful meadows and streams before reaching the campsite at Lakong.
The sixth day of the trek is a descent through beautiful meadows and streams. The trail passes through scenic villages and lush green meadows before reaching the campsite at Kargyak.
The seventh day of the trek is a rest day at Kargyak. You can use this day to explore the beautiful village of Kargyak and interact with the locals.
The eighth day of the trek is a gradual ascent through beautiful meadows and streams. The trail passes through scenic villages and lush green meadows before reaching the campsite at Purne.
The ninth day of the trek is a day trip to the famous Phuktal Gompa. The trail passes through beautiful meadows and streams before reaching the stunning Phuktal Gompa. After spending some time at the monastery, you will return to Purne for the night.
The final day of the trek is a descent back to Raru. The trail follows the same route as the ascent and takes around 6-7 hours. From Raru, you will be driven back to Manali.
