Trek Description

The Gidara Bugyal trek starts from the picturesque village of Wan, which is located at an altitude of 7,200 feet. The trek follows a gradual ascent through dense forests of oak, rhododendron, and deodar trees. As you move forward, the forests give way to vast meadows of Gidara Bugyal, where you can see a stunning variety of alpine flowers and rare Himalayan birds. The trek also offers panoramic views of the surrounding peaks like Nanda Ghunti, Trishul, Chaukhamba, and Neelkanth.

Day wise Details and Description

Day 1: Dehradun to Wan (7-8 hours drive)

After an early morning pickup from Dehradun, we drive to Wan village via Devprayag and Rudraprayag. Overnight stay in a guest house in Wan.

Day 2: Wan to Gidara Bugyal (7,900 feet)

The trek starts from Wan and takes around 5-6 hours to reach Gidara Bugyal. The trail passes through dense forests and offers stunning views of the surrounding peaks. Overnight stay in tents.

Day 3: Gidara Bugyal to Kalyani Thach (9,200 feet)

The trek continues from Gidara Bugyal to Kalyani Thach, which takes around 5-6 hours. The trail passes through dense forests of oak and rhododendron trees. Overnight stay in tents.

Day 4: Kalyani Thach to Gailgarh (11,200 feet)

The trek from Kalyani Thach to Gailgarh takes around 6-7 hours. The trail passes through beautiful meadows and offers panoramic views of the surrounding peaks. Overnight stay in tents.

Day 5: Gailgarh to Gidara Top (12,500 feet) and back to Gailgarh

The trek to Gidara Top takes around 3-4 hours and offers stunning views of the surrounding peaks. After spending some time at the top, we trek back to Gailgarh for an overnight stay in tents.

Gailgarh to Wan

The trek back to Wan takes around 4-5 hours. Overnight stay in a guest house in Wan.

Day 7: Wan to Dehradun (7-8 hours drive)

After breakfast, we drive back to Dehradun via Rudraprayag and Devprayag.
