The Digar La with Nubra and Pangong Tso Trek is an adventurous and scenic trek through the high mountain passes and lakes of Ladakh, India. This moderate level trek takes you through remote villages, high mountain passes, and stunning landscapes. The trek can be completed in 8 days and 7 nights, and offers breathtaking views of the Himalayan range.
Leh is the base camp, and getting there by road takes a long time, so take a flight and get there quickly. Hotel arrangements will be made.
After breakfast, take a short drive to Saboo village. It is located in rural Ladakh in an idyllic setting. Drive through the village to the trailhead. Pass through the wide grazing fields after crossing a bridge. After a 3 km trek, you will arrive at Saboo Phu, which is also a grazing field used during the summer months.
Today, travel to the Digar La base. Get a spectacular view of the towering Stok range and the fascinating landscape around you. The camps will be set up on a wide knoll at the confluence of two valleys. The prayer flags on the right mark the Digar La pass, which we will cross tomorrow.
After walking for 2 kilometres to the base, the steep climb begins. This section is difficult and strenuous, but the trail is well marked. Spot Himalayan animals and, if you're lucky, Tibetan wolves and Snow leopards. Views of the Stok Range, Karakoram Range, and Saser Kangri can be enjoyed from Digar La. Descend through the Nubra valley, one of Ladakh's most scenic regions.
Today is the last day of trekking. The descent to Digar village is quick and simple. From there, a vehicle will be arranged to take you to Hunder, which is located in the upper reaches of the Nubra Valley. The arrangements will be made in a Hunder homestay or guesthouse.
After breakfast, prepare to drive across some extremely high passes, such as Wari La and Chang La. Reach Pangong Tso, Ladakh's largest high-altitude lake on the Chinese border. Half of Pangong Tso is in India, and the other half is in China. Spend your free time strolling along its banks. The accommodations will be in a homestay or a guesthouse.
Today, take a scenic drive across Chang La to Karu and the final destination of Leh.
