Darcha Padum Trek is a popular trek in the Trans-Himalayan region of Ladakh. This trek is known for its high-altitude passes, remote villages, and breathtaking landscapes. The trek is also known as the `Moonland Trek` as it passes through the moon-like terrain of the Ladakh and Zanskar regions.
The car will be arranged from Manali, and the trip will proceed for Sissu. The route includes the Rohtang Pass and twisty roads. On way, take in the breathtaking splendour of Sorang Nalla. Arrive in Sissu, your campground for the day, and unwind for the day.
Post breakfast, depart from Sissu and enjoy the drive through galvanizing Lahaul and Spiti famous for apple and potato orchards. Pass through beautiful towns of Keylong and Jispa en route. Reach Chumik Nakpo and settle for the day.
Explore the surroundings, acclimatise, and enjoy the night stay in tents at Chumik Nakpo today.
Start your day early because the trek to Shingo La pass is hard and arduous. Get great views of the glacier and prayer flags waving in the wind just before reaching the summit. Descend gently and enjoy staying in campgrounds at Lakhang.
Today, gently descend along the Kargiak River. The route is made more stunning by the Mani Walls, which are extremely important to Buddhists.
The path from Kargiak to Tangtze will be the most scenic, with large meadows and barley fields beside it. Discover the Zanskar valley's way of life and see Stupas (Chortens) along the way. Tangtze, arrive to your campground, and retire for the night.
Today's journey takes us from Tangtze to the old Phuktal Monastery. It is a marvel of architecture and is placed on the edge of a hill. Today, spend the day visiting this monastery and get a flavour of the monks' way of life.
Bid adieu to Phuktal Monastery and head towards Hanmu village by trekking along the Tserap River through Cha village. From Hanmu the journey starts to Padum in the arranged vehicle. Today visit Mune and Barden Monasteries and on reaching Padum rest in a hotel.
Darcha Padum trek ends here. Carry memories with you and depart to Leh.
