Buran Ghati Trek is a challenging trek located in the picturesque state of Himachal Pradesh, India. The trek takes you through beautiful valleys, dense forests, and stunning mountain ranges. The trek is a 7-day adventure that requires good physical fitness and prior trekking experience. Here is a day-wise itinerary for the Buran Ghati Trek.
The vehicles are arranged in Shimla, and the journey begins there. Cover 160 kilometres by following the route through Janglik Village and visiting famous tourist attractions such as Shimla and Rohru Falls.
Begin the trek by exiting the wheat fields and saying goodbye to the last few Diude huts. As you climb higher, you can see Tangle, Diude, and other lovely villages. Ascend gradually through the pine and oak forest.
In the morning, after breakfast, visit the Dayara meadows. The path from Dayara to Litham today passes through dense forests, enticing green meadows, and beautiful streams. The trail leads across meadows to Gunas Pass, where it enters the pine forest after fifteen minutes. Cross a brook and emerge from the jungle with breathtaking views of the Dhauladhar range and Gunas Pass.
Chandranahan is a small glacial lake surrounded by mountains, and snow flanks feed it. To get to the Ridge Top, take the Shepherds Trail and head towards the waterfall's snout. The Lake may be reached in one hour, but the journey becomes arduous beyond the snout.
Today, after breakfast, the ascent to the pass is hard but brief, and Buran Pass will be visible on the way. On route, one may observe the Dhauladhar range and Gunas Pass. It is situated in front of Latham's verdant grasslands and the cliffs of Rupin Valley. Pabbar dips quickly, and the trail abruptly ascends. When you follow the river's left bank, the trail transforms into a gorge valley.
Today, get up early because the journey is lengthy and demanding. Leave the Dhunda campground by following the ridge and boulder hopping to the base of the Buran Pass. It will take one hour from the base to reach the Pass. The hike to Buran Ghati today will be thrilling. It is a narrow surface at the summit; use ropes to descend because it is quite dangerous without them. You must travel 100 metres down the slope to reach a snow field.
Today on the walk, you'll see a variety of vegetation and be startled by the varied vistas. Take the large and well-traveled Barua Khud route. Descent and ahead, you'll see a stream meet Barua Khud, which you'll cross across a bridge and explore the various plants. After an hour of climbing, you will reach apple orchards and civilization. On the route, there is a rock from which the entire Barua village can be seen.
