Brahmatal Trek is a famous winter trekking destination in the Indian state of Uttarakhand. The trek offers mesmerizing views of snow-covered Himalayan peaks, frozen lakes, and dense forests, making it an ideal destination for adventure enthusiasts and nature lovers.
The trek starts from Kathgodam, which is well connected by road and rail from major cities in India. On the first day, reach Kathgodam and drive to Lohajung, which is a scenic drive of about 9-10 hours. Stay overnight in Lohajung and acclimatize to the altitude.
On the second day, start the trek from Lohajung to Bekaltal, which is a beautiful lake situated at an altitude of 2,702 meters above sea level. The trek is about 6 km long and takes around 4-5 hours to complete. The trail passes through dense forests of oak and rhododendron and offers panoramic views of the surrounding mountains. Stay overnight in tents near the lake.
On the third day, start the trek to Brahmatal, which is a high altitude lake situated at an altitude of 3,400 meters above sea level. The trek is about 7 km long and takes around 5-6 hours to complete. The trail passes through dense forests of oak and rhododendron and offers stunning views of the Himalayan peaks. Stay overnight in tents near the lake.
On the fourth day, start the trek to Daldum, which is a small village situated at an altitude of 2,550 meters above sea level. The trek is about 6 km long and takes around 4-5 hours to complete. The trail passes through dense forests and offers magnificent views of the Himalayan peaks. Stay overnight in tents near the village.
On the fifth day, start the trek back to Lohajung after breakfast. The trek is about 8 km long and takes around 6-7 hours to complete. Reach Lohajung by evening and stay overnight in a guest house.
On the last day, start the drive back to Kathgodam after breakfast. Reach Kathgodam by afternoon and depart for your next destination.
