The trek is suitable for beginners and families who are looking for a short adventure in the mountains. With stunning views of snow-capped peaks and glaciers, the Beas Kund Trek is a must-do for anyone visiting the Kullu Valley of Himachal Pradesh.
The car will be provided by Manali, with a departure time of 6:30 a.m. The journey takes you to Solang Valley, which serves as the beginning point for this hike. Once you enter the Solang valley, the route becomes more scenic, surrounded by mountains. It turns rough ahead; after a 10-minute climb, cross a brook and continue on the route. Travel through the pine forest to reach a bridge that connects the Rohtang Pass Tunnel.
The trek starts with a sheer climb, deeper in the valley are many trees of Pine, Walnut and Birch. Further cross a stream and follow the well-marked trail. Ahead a bridge is visible which connects the other valley side. Stay beside the Beas River. The treeline recedes and now there are only sub alpine bushes.
The walk to Beas Kund is difficult, but the breathtaking vistas of the mountains and trees keep you company. After three hours of elevation, you will come upon a meadow known as Lady Leg. If the weather is clear, you can see Friendship Peak well. Go towards the highest point from Lady Leg; you'll there in 20 minutes and get a good view of the lake.
Start the descent back to Solang Valley and drive back to Manali. Spend the evening relaxing and exploring the town.
