Trek Description

The Bagini Glacier Trek is a 9-day trek that covers a total distance of approximately 55 kilometers. The trek begins from the village of Jumma and ends at the village of Ghamsali. The trail is challenging and includes steep ascents and descents, narrow paths, and rocky terrain. The highest point of the trek is the Bagini Glacier, which stands at an elevation of 4,100 meters (13,450 feet).

Day wise Details and Description

Day 1: Haridwar to Jumma (2,120 meters/6,955 feet)

The trek starts from Haridwar, and it takes around 10-11 hours to reach the village of Jumma, which is the starting point of the trek.

Day 2: Jumma to Ruing (2,600 meters/8,530 feet)

The trek starts with a gradual ascent through dense forests of oak and rhododendron trees. The trail passes through several small villages, and you will have to cross several streams on the way. The trek to Ruing takes around 6-7 hours.

Day 3: Ruing to Dronagiri (3,700 meters/12,139 feet)

Today`s trek is a steep ascent to Dronagiri, which offers stunning views of the surrounding peaks. The trail passes through alpine meadows and rocky terrain, and it takes around 5-6 hours to reach Dronagiri.

Day 4: Dronagiri to Bagini Base Camp (4,100 meters/13,450 feet)

Today`s trek takes you through a steep ascent to the Bagini Base Camp. The trail passes through a glacier, and you will have to cross several streams on the way. The trek to Bagini Base Camp takes around 4-5 hours.

Day 5: Rest day at Bagini Base Camp

Today is a rest day at the Bagini Base Camp, and you can explore the surroundings or take a short hike to the nearby glaciers.

Day 6: Bagini Base Camp to Changabang Base Camp (4,650 meters/15,256 feet)

Today`s trek is a steep ascent to the Changabang Base Camp, which offers stunning views of the Changabang peak. The trail passes through rocky terrain, and it takes around 4-5 hours to reach the Changabang Base Camp.

Day 7: Changabang Base Camp to Dronagiri (3,700 meters/12,139 feet)

Day 8: Dronagiri to Ghamsali (2,200 meters/7,218 feet)
